On November 5th, the voting to elect the new President of the United States officially closed. In the end, the winner was Donald Trump, who defeated his opponent by securing 291 electoral votes compared to 226 for Kamala Harris. Trump is now the 47th president of the United States. Additionally, he is the oldest president ever elected, surpassing Joe Biden’s record.
After the election results were announced, Kamala Harris gave a speech to congratulate Trump, but above all to thank her supporters. Let’s take a look at what she said in her speech:
“My heart is full of gratitude for the trust you placed in me, and full of love for our country. The outcome of this election is not what we wanted, nor what we fought for, but hear me when I say, the light of America’s promise will always burn bright, because we never gave up and as long as we keep fighting… To President Biden, thank you for your faith and support; to my extraordinary team and the volunteers… I’m proud of the
race we ran and the way we ran it. We’ve been intentional about building community and coalitions, bringing people together from every walk of life and background, with enthusiasm and joy in our fight for America’s future… I congratulate Trump on his victory, and we will help him and his team with their transition. We will engage in a peaceful transfer of power… I often say when we fight, we win. But sometimes the fight takes a while. That doesn’t mean we won’t win. The important thing is to never give up. You have power, and never listen to someone who says something is impossible just because it has never been done before.”
This is what she said in her speech. The conclusion is that she encouraged the American people to never give up, to fight for their principles, their freedom, and their country. She emphasized the importance of unity and creating a nation where all people live together as neighbors, without discrimination, because that is what builds a strong and inclusive community.
